The E-blocks2 system is ideal for everyone, from those learning in an educational environment to engineers in the industrial world. The use of E-blocks is well supported with complementary ranges of software (including PIC, dsPIC, ARM and AVR Arduino IDE, Flowcode), and support for Grove® sensors. Technical support is available from our dedicated team through forums.
Arduino
If you are looking for a way to work with the Arduino microcontroller environment, but you're looking for a system that gives you curriculum, support, training opportunities, and a software environment that engages its users, then E-blocks2 is for you. Integration with Flowcode is seamless, and the ability to allow users to conduct simulation of designs, advanced test, debugging of their systems, and many other benefits is awe-inspiring.
Education
Although boasting industry-standard features, E-blocks2 is designed primarily for learners and educators. Our kits, supplied alongside a free curriculum, are perfect for delivering microcontroller system teaching across various platforms, including those delivering PIC and Arduino system development. The design and manufacture of our boards allow them to last longer in the demands of educational labs. Further releases of E-block 2 in the coming months will see the educational appeal of the range grow further.
Ghost Technology
In Flowcode 7.3 onwards, auto ID lets you see the E-block2 boards connected in the console window. In-Circuit-Debugging, allows users to set or clear breakpoints and debug systems whilst simulation is live, and in-circuit-test can be seen on the data recorder and oscilloscope windows in Flowcode. The Oscilloscope is useful for recurring signals where you can set a repeating trigger and inspect a part of a waveform in isolation. The Data Recorder is useful for comparing multiple signals over time.
The study of fluid mechanics and the forces on them is becoming increasingly popular. With applications in various disciplines, including mechanical, civil, chemical and biomedical engineering, the Fundamental Fluids range from Matrix allows students to gain a hands-on understanding of the key principles. The main workstation is supplied along with sixteen individual components, allowing students to build nine different experiments without needing additional tools. Six of the experiments are connected via USB to the pressure and flow sensors, which allows results to be automatically plotted on a graph for analysis. The remaining three experiments are carried out and plotted manually.
Each component is attached to the main workstation with quick-release latches, allowing students to build and dismantle each experiment quickly. A full free curriculum is provided with easy-to-follow worksheets.

CNC Programming made easy
Our MicroCNC range of machines are low voltage, easy to store, and cost-effective, allowing students to work in small groups to prototype their designs and learn key machining concepts. The robust range is a great introduction to manufacturing engineering principles.
Why Choose MicroCNC
- Compact and easily stored
- Designed for students to work in small groups
- Learn key principles of CNC machining and prototype easily
- 2-axis lathe and 3 and 4-axis milling machines
- Includes software to convert your CAD designs easily

The MicroCNC system controller and base plate allows the user to control our machines using a variety of software packages.
The baseplate is ordered separately (CN4079) and includes necessary power supplies and an industrial standard computer with stepper motor driver circuitry as well as USB connection facility to a Windows PC.
After creating designs using CAD software including Solidworks, the user converts their design into G code.
We supply Deskproto and CAMBAM software, which imports STL files from a CAD program, calculates CNC toolpaths and then writes a G code program file, allowing prototyping using materials including wax, PU board and acrylic, suitable for lathing, milling, engraving etc.

The machine components are secured to the base plate quickly and easily, to provide a solid and tidy machine that can easily be put away for storage.
The complete MicroCNC set enables users to easily create any one of the three machines in our range, meaning teaching of manufacturing engineering technologies is made easier than ever.
Pneumatics Learning Solutions
Automatics is a range of products that simplifies the process of teaching and learning about pneumatic and automation systems. The Automatics range has been designed to suit the classroom environment. The pneumatic components are identical to those used by real engineers, but have been cleverly adapted so that students can construct automation systems speedily and without tools. There are around 30 separate rugged components in the range, each one mounted on a clear acrylic carrier which is marked with the appropriate pneumatic or electrical symbol. Students mount the components on to the stable aluminium platform using plastic ‘tee’ bolts and connect the components together with nylon tubing to build working pneumatic circuits.
Why Choose Automatics
- Makes learning easier
- Rugged and reliable
- Integrate Pneumatics & Control
- Covers a range of subject areas
- Extensive free curriculum
- Range of individual components
- Sturdy storage for solutions
- Minimal assembly required
Automatics Curriculum
Curriculum can be downloaded for free from our website. These workbooks provide lesson plans, student worksheets and teacher’s notes for a variety of courses that can be used individually or as a coherent series. Students are guided through each subject in a logical sequence with clear, concise learning objectives at each stage, complete with quizzes and short tests by which their progress can be assessed.
Automatics Solutions
Automatics solutions fit into many different disciplines as they can be used to teach Technology/Computer science, Basic engineering and Mechanical engineering. Solutions are packed in rugged plastic trays and include power supplies where necessary and generous quantities of ‘consumables’ such as pneumatic tubing and fixings. Add-on packs are also available that are designed to extend the features of your core solution.
Automatics in Industry
Now available is the Automatics PLC adaptor rail, meaning that the Automatics range can be used with any PLC. The adaptor rail allows PLCs to connect to relay and motor outputs using standard 4mm connectors which connect directly to other Automatics components. Any programming language, including ladder logic, can be used. PLC adaptor modules available are power distribution, inputs, motor outputs and relays.
